Successful Completion of Counseling Program on Protecting Children from Online Abuse

The International Foundation for Digital Child (IFDC) has successfully concluded its groundbreaking awareness program aimed at Protecting Children from Online Abuse. The event, held on November 28, 2024, at the Industrial Engineering Training Institute (IETI) - NAITA, brought together over 350 participants to address the growing challenges faced by children in the digital landscape.

The International Foundation for Digital Child (IFDC) has successfully concluded its groundbreaking awareness program aimed at Protecting Children from Online Abuse. The event, held on November 28, 2024, at the Industrial Engineering Training Institute (IETI) – NAITA, brought together over 350 participants to address the growing challenges faced by children in the digital landscape.

This impactful initiative was spearheaded by Dr. M. C. Rasmin, Director of IFDC and coordinated by Ms. Randi Ushara, Project Officer at the organization. The program was a collaborative effort featuring a panel of distinguished professionals who shared their expertise and insights:

Addressing a Critical Need

The program underscored the urgent need to combat online child abuse, shedding light on the threats children face in the digital age, such as; online grooming, online harassment, cyber bullying, sextortion, etc. Participants gained valuable knowledge on identifying signs of online abuse, protective measures, and fostering safer digital spaces. Topics covered included:

  • Challenges and risks children encounter on the Internet
  • The importance of open communication and proactive intervention
  • Strategies for parents, educators, and community leaders to safeguard children’s online experiences

The interactive sessions facilitated meaningful discussions, encouraging vigilance and collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure a secure and empowering digital environment for future generations.
